Clear, timely action during incidents, hazards, and emergencies is critical to preventing harm and ensuring appropriate support.
E4 People expect all workers to understand what to do and who to contact, without confusion or delay.
What is an incident or hazard?
Incident
An incident is any unplanned event thatresults in, or could have resulted in:

Injury or illness

Psychological harm
-
Property damage
-
Exposure to risk (including near misses
Near misses must also be reported, they help prevent serious incidents.
Hazard
A hazard is anything with the potential tocause harm, including:

Unsafe equipment or environments

Aggressive behaviour
-
Fatigue or unsafe workloads
- Infection risks or pool IPC controls

Medical Emergencies
- Call 000 immediately
- Follow the host site emergency procedures
- Notify the host supervisor
- Contact E4 People as soon as it is safe to do so
Aggression or violence
- Remove yourself from immediate danger
- Follow host site procedures for managing aggression
- Seek assistance from site staff or security
- Report the incident to the host and E4 People immediately
Needle Stick or Sharps Injury
- - Follow host site exposure protocols
- - Report the incident to the host supervisor immediately
- - Contact E4 People without delay
