We’re recruiting a Full-Time Chef to lead the kitchen at a medium-sized aged care facility in Rockhampton.
 
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll oversee kitchen operations while building strong connections with residents and your team.
 
You will:

• Lead and supervise a team of 3 consisting of kitchen hands and Food Services Assistants (FSAs)
• Oversee meal preparation within a cook-chill model transitioning to fresh cook later this year
• Support, train and guide a growing FSA team
• Ensure high standards of food safety, quality, and presentation
• Engage with residents. This is a people-facing role, not just kitchen-based
• Work closely with management to improve kitchen operations and service delivery

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (essential)
• Proven experience leading or supervising a kitchen team
• Strong communication skills. Confident engaging with residents and staff
• A collaborative, hands-on leadership style
• Open to chefs outside aged care. Full training provided
