Lead a great kitchen team without giving up your weekends.
We’re looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead the food service operation of a large residential aged care facility in Croydon.
This is a great opportunity for a Chef who enjoys leading people, running a kitchen and making a real difference to residents' daily experience.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and support a team of cooks and food services staff
- Manage rostering, performance and day-to-day kitchen operations
- Oversee nutritious, high-quality meals for residents
- Manage dietary requirements and texture-modified meals
- Work closely with care teams to support residents' nutritional needs
- Respond to resident feedback and resolve food-related concerns
- Maintain high standards across food safety, hygiene and presentation
What we're looking for
You’ll be a confident kitchen leader with:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Experience leading a busy, high-volume kitchen
- Strong people management and rostering skills
- Experience managing dietary requirements and bulk food production
- The confidence to handle feedback, complaints and challenging conversations
- A genuine focus on quality and the resident experience
- Full Australian working rights
Aged care experience is highly regarded, but not essential. We’re also keen to hear from experienced Chefs from high-volume hospitality, healthcare, retirement living or commercial kitchen environments.
