Maintenance Officer

Sydney, New South Wales

Details

briefcase-regular-1   Work Type: Permanent

square-dollar-regular   Salary Range: $70,001 - $80,000

heart-circle-plus-regular   Whats on Offer: Join a large Aged Care Provider as Maintenance Officer to improve the wellbeing of our elderly.

Description

A well-established retirement living and aged care organisation is seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Officer to join the team and help keep its facilities, grounds and living environments safe, functional and well maintained.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a practical, reliable and self-motivated professional who enjoys variety and takes pride in keeping properties operating at their best. You will play a key role in maintaining the buildings, outdoor spaces and facilities, responding to maintenance requests and ensuring planned works are completed to a high standard.

If you are hands-on, organised and confident working independently, this role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to the day-to-day experience of residents while building a long-term career within the retirement living and aged care sector.

Please note: Applicants must have unrestricted full-time working rights in Australia. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

About the Role

As a key member of the site team, you will maintain, repair and improve the facilities and grounds across your designated areas, ensuring they remain safe, functional and well presented.
This role combines general property maintenance, preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, grounds and gardening work, regulatory compliance and Work Health & Safety within a hands-on retirement living environment.
You will work across a variety of maintenance tasks, from basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and building repairs through to mowing, hedging and general grounds upkeep. You will also complete scheduled preventative maintenance and respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests.

About You

You are a practical, dependable and highly self-motivated individual who takes pride in maintaining safe, welcoming and well-presented environments for residents.
You will also bring:

  • A recognised trade qualification with previous experience in a hands-on maintenance, building or trade environment
  • A current unrestricted driver's licence
  • Previous experience in maintenance within retirement living or a similar residential environment
  • Basic computer skills and confidence using systems to record and manage maintenance activities
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritising and responding to maintenance requirements effectively
  • Unrestricted full-time working rights in Australia — sponsorship is not available for this position
Experience as a builder, fitter and turner, welder or plumber will be highly regarded.

What's on Offer
  • Opportunity to join an established and supportive retirement living and aged care organisation
  • Salary Packaging benefits of up to $15,900, plus a Meal and Entertainment benefit package of up to $2,650
  • Access to Heart HQ, with exclusive retail discounts and features designed to help employees celebrate, connect and succeed
  • Fitness Passport, providing discounted access to nominated gyms, pools, health and leisure centres across NSW and ACT for you and your family
  • Discounted private health insurance

  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Access to LinkedIn Learning, with a digital library of more than 6,000 courses for eligible teams
  • Genuine career progression pathways
Salary Packaging: Up to $15,900 + $2,650 Meal & Entertainment benefits
Hours: Fulltime

E4 People has been a specialist healthcare recruitment partner since 2012. Over the past decade we have built deep relationships across aged care, allied health, and hospital settings throughout Australia. When you work with us, you get more than a single job opening. You get a recruiter who understands the sector, knows the leadership teams, and can talk honestly about culture, career pathways and where your skills will be valued.
What this looks like in practice:

  • Honest market insight on salary, growth, and where the sector is moving
  • Discreet, professional handling at every stage. We do not share your details without permission
  • Ongoing support post placement, because the right fit matters longer than the offer date
We are proud that many of the candidates we place return to us years later for their next career move. That is the standard we aim for on every search.
