Description
A well-established retirement living and aged care organisation is seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Officer to join the team and help keep its facilities, grounds and living environments safe, functional and well maintained.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a practical, reliable and self-motivated professional who enjoys variety and takes pride in keeping properties operating at their best. You will play a key role in maintaining the buildings, outdoor spaces and facilities, responding to maintenance requests and ensuring planned works are completed to a high standard.
If you are hands-on, organised and confident working independently, this role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference to the day-to-day experience of residents while building a long-term career within the retirement living and aged care sector.

About the Role
As a key member of the site team, you will maintain, repair and improve the facilities and grounds across your designated areas, ensuring they remain safe, functional and well presented.
This role combines general property maintenance, preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, grounds and gardening work, regulatory compliance and Work Health & Safety within a hands-on retirement living environment.
You will work across a variety of maintenance tasks, from basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and building repairs through to mowing, hedging and general grounds upkeep. You will also complete scheduled preventative maintenance and respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests.
About You
You are a practical, dependable and highly self-motivated individual who takes pride in maintaining safe, welcoming and well-presented environments for residents.
You will also bring:
- A recognised trade qualification with previous experience in a hands-on maintenance, building or trade environment
- A current unrestricted driver's licence
- Previous experience in maintenance within retirement living or a similar residential environment
- Basic computer skills and confidence using systems to record and manage maintenance activities
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritising and responding to maintenance requirements effectively
- Unrestricted full-time working rights in Australia — sponsorship is not available for this position
