An exceptional opportunity has become available for an experienced aged care leader to join a well-established residential aged care provider in a newly created leadership position based in North West Sydney.
This role will act as the designated second-in-command across Residential Services and play a pivotal role in strengthening clinical governance, quality, compliance and risk management across the organisation.
With the aged care sector undergoing significant reform under the Aged Care Act 2024 and Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, this position offers the opportunity to influence strategic direction, drive organisational excellence and make a meaningful impact on resident outcomes.

The Opportunity

You will provide strategic oversight across:

βοΈ Continuous Improvement Programs
βοΈ Infection Prevention & Control
βοΈ Clinical Education & Workforce Capability
Working closely with executive leadership, operational teams and clinical leaders, you will provide expert guidance on governance, quality, compliance and risk management across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain the organisation's Clinical Governance Framework
- Drive accreditation readiness and regulatory compliance activities
- Oversee quality management systems, audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage organisational risk frameworks, registers and reporting
- Monitor and analyse clinical indicators, incidents, complaints and consumer feedback
- Lead investigations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective action plans
- Prepare governance, quality and risk reports for Executive Leadership and the Board
- Support leaders to build a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement
- Monitor legislative changes and ensure organisational readiness for ongoing sector reforms
To be successful, you will bring:
Essential Experience
βοΈ Leadership experience within Residential Aged Care
βοΈ Strong background in Clinical Governance, Quality, Compliance or Risk Management
βοΈ Experience leading accreditation preparation and regulatory audits
βοΈ Demonstrated capability managing incident investigations, SIRS reporting and Root Cause Analysis
βοΈ Sound knowledge of the Aged Care Act 2024 and Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards
βοΈ Experience developing and maintaining quality and risk management frameworks
βοΈ Excellent stakeholder engagement, coaching and leadership skills
Qualifications
βοΈ Current AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse (preferred)
βοΈ Qualification in Clinical Governance, Quality Management, Risk Management or a related discipline
βοΈ Strong understanding of contemporary aged care legislation and compliance requirements
