Whats on Offer: Drive operational excellence and increased occupancy at this large Nursing Home on the North Shore
Description
A premium residential aged care home in Sydney's Lower North Shore is seeking an experienced and clinically capable Facility Manager to lead the residence through its next phase of growth.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity for a strategic, commercially minded and people-focused leader who thrives in a high-performing residential aged care environment. You will play a key role in leading the overall operation of the home, supporting exceptional resident care and experience while driving occupancy, financial performance, compliance and team capability.
The residence is already home to a strong and established leadership team and has recently completed its re-registration process successfully. The role presents an opportunity to build on that strong foundation while leading the home towards full occupancy and continued operational excellence.
If you are an experienced Facility Manager, current AHPRA-registered clinician, and confident senior leader with strong operational and financial acumen, this role offers the chance to make a genuine impact while leading a premium residential aged care environment.
About the Role
As the overall operational leader of the residential aged care home, you will lead, optimise and continuously improve all aspects of the residence.
This role combines operational leadership, clinical and quality oversight, financial management, people leadership, regulatory compliance and resident experience within a premium residential aged care environment.
You will lead a multidisciplinary management team, ensuring residents receive exceptional care and services while the home operates efficiently, maintains strong occupancy and achieves its quality, compliance and financial objectives.
This is a hands-on executive leadership role requiring a leader who can balance resident outcomes with commercial and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall day-to-day operation of the residential aged care home, ensuring consistently high standards of care, service and resident experience
- Drive occupancy growth towards 100% while maintaining quality outcomes and ensuring appropriate staffing and resources
- Oversee compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards, relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and organisational policies
- Manage the financial performance of the home, including budgets, expenditure, income, staffing costs, resources and financial reporting
- Lead and develop the management team, fostering an accountable, collaborative and high-performing culture
- Monitor clinical care, quality systems, audits, incidents, complaints and continuous improvement activities to ensure positive resident outcomes
- Oversee AN-ACC processes and funding submissions, ensuring claims and validation requirements are accurate, complete and timely
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, representatives, staff, health professionals, contractors and external stakeholders
You are a strategic, compassionate and highly accountable leader who genuinely puts residents and their experience at the centre of decision-making.
You will also bring:
- Previous experience as a Facility Manager / Executive Manager within residential aged care, with a proven track record of senior leadership
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, with strong clinical credibility and understanding of contemporary aged care practice
- Comprehensive knowledge of residential aged care, including funding, accreditation, regulatory requirements, complaints management, restrictive practices and SIRS
- Strong operational and financial acumen, with demonstrated experience managing budgets, staffing, resources and occupancy
- Proven leadership capability, including developing senior teams, managing performance, mentoring staff and building a positive workplace culture
- Strong understanding of quality, compliance and continuous improvement, with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical action
