Risk & Governance Specialist

Sydney, New South Wales

Details

briefcase-regular-1   Work Type: Permanent

square-dollar-regular   Salary Range: $100,001 - $120,000

heart-circle-plus-regular   Whats on Offer: A newly created role where a clinician with governance ambitions can own the full risk and compliance remit at E4 People, with direct CEO support and real scope to build something lasting.

Description

The Opportunity

Your clinical background is exactly what this role needs. Just not in a clinical setting.

E4 People is a healthcare staffing business that places nurses and allied health professionals across Australia. We're building a dedicated risk and clincial governance function for the first time, and we need someone who understands healthcare from the inside: how incidents happen, what clinical governance actually means, and why credentialing matters. This is a Monday to Friday, based in our Sydney CBD office, with no shift work, no weekends, and no patient care demands.

The core of this role is clinical risk, incident management, and workforce safety. Those sit with you directly. Beyond that, we have external legal counsel, IT and security specialists, and other advisors in place. Your job is to make sure nothing falls through the cracks: coordinating those experts, knowing what to ask and when to escalate, and keeping the CEO informed. You don't need to be a lawyer or an IT specialist. You need to be the person who makes sure the right things get done.

What you'll be doing

Clinical risk and incident management: This is the heart of the role. Own clinical risk across our healthcare workforce, run the end-to-end incident process, and build a governance framework that fits a staffing business, not a hospital.
Psychosocial safety and WorkCover: Own our psychosocial safety obligations and manage WorkCover claims and processes from start to finish.
Coordinating compliance and legal risk: Work with our external legal counsel to stay across privacy obligations, quality assurance, accreditation, and client contracts. You're the internal owner who makes sure nothing is missed and risk gets escalated clearly.
Coordinating IT and cyber security: Liaise with our external IT and security specialists to keep data backup, email security, and cyber training running to an agreed standard. You own the oversight, not the technical detail.
Growing scope: This is a new function being built from the ground up. As it matures, the role will evolve. The right person brings initiative and follows through without being chased.

What we're looking for

  • Clinical background, registered nurse or equivalent, with the credibility to engage on clinical risk and incident matters.
  • Experience in clinical governance, incident management, or worker safety in a healthcare or healthcare-adjacent setting.
  • Practical working knowledge of WorkCover/workers compensation and psychosocial safety obligations.
  • A doer: someone who takes ownership, builds process, and gets things done without needing to be prompted.
  • Comfortable working with external specialists, knowing what to ask, when to escalate, and how to communicate risk clearly to leadership.
What we offer

Monday to Friday: No shift work, no weekends. This is a 9 to 5 role based in our Sydney CBD office.
Leave: 20 days annual leave, a quarterly wellness day, and your birthday off.
Autonomy: You report directly to the CEO and have real scope to shape this function from the ground up.
Team culture: A high-energy team that celebrates success, supports each other, and takes their work seriously without taking themselves too seriously.
Social connection: Regular team events, run club, community volunteering, and an active social calendar.
Location: Modern office near Town Hall, Sydney CBD, with easy public transport access.

Applications
Please apply directly via SEEK with your CV and a brief cover note explaining what draws you to the role.
This is a Sydney-based role. Applications from candidates based outside of Sydney will not be considered.
