Roster Coordinator

Summary of Position
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Roster Coordinator to join a well-established residential aged care provider in Tasmania. This pivotal role is responsible for managing and coordinating staff rosters to ensure optimal care coverage and workforce efficiency across the home.
Working closely with clinical and operational leaders, you’ll play a key part in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the facility, ensuring residents receive high-quality, consistent care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and maintain accurate staff rosters in line with operational requirements and award conditions.
  • Coordinate shift replacements, manage unplanned absences, and maintain staffing coverage.
  • Liaise with department heads and care managers to ensure adequate clinical and support staffing levels.
  • Monitor staff availability, leave, and time allocations to ensure compliance with budgets and rosters.
  • Communicate roster changes and updates promptly to employees.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding activities as required.
  • Maintain accurate records within the rostering system and prepare workforce reports as needed.
Key Requirements
  • Previous experience in rostering, scheduling, or workforce coordination (aged care or health sector preferred).
  • Confident personality with a firm, but fair approach to your position and day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Sound computer literacy and experience with roster management software (e.g. Humanforce, Kronos, or similar).
  • Understanding of relevant awards, EBAs, and workforce compliance obligations.
