State Operations Manager

An established and growing aged care provider is seeking an experienced and commercially minded State Operations Manager to join its executive leadership team. This is a senior operational leadership role overseeing a portfolio of residential aged care homes, working closely with site leadership teams and corporate functions to drive operational performance, compliance, quality outcomes, and resident experience across the organisation.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will provide operational oversight and hands-on leadership across multiple services, supporting site leaders to achieve strong outcomes across occupancy, funding, compliance, quality indicators, financial performance, and resident care.
The role will work closely with operational, clinical, quality, people & culture, and support services teams to embed consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership and support across a portfolio of residential aged care homes
- Partner with site leaders to drive performance across occupancy, funding, compliance, quality indicators, and resident experience
- Support accreditation readiness, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead and contribute to strategic operational and quality improvement projects
- Coach, mentor, and develop operational leadership teams across multiple sites
- Collaborate with executive stakeholders across operations, quality, workforce, and safety functions
- Promote a strong culture of accountability, engagement, continuous improvement, and resident-centred care
- Support operational coverage during leadership vacancies or periods of leave where required
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Significant leadership experience within residential aged care operations
- Strong understanding of aged care funding models, compliance, and accreditation requirements
- Demonstrated experience supporting multi-site operations and leading through organisational change
- Strong knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards and regulatory environment
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and influence senior operational leaders
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving capability
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability
- Passion for continuous improvement and high-quality resident outcomes
