Respect at Work & Psychological Safety

E4 People is committed to creating workplaces where everyone feels safe, respected, and supported. Psychological safety is just as important as physical safety, and every worker has the right to a respectful work environment.

Everyone deserves a safe and respectful workplace

All E4 People workers are entitled to: 

  • Be treated with dignity, fairness, and respect
  • Work free from bullying, harassment, discrimination, and victimisation
  • Raise concerns without fear of reprisal

Respectful behaviour is expected at all times, towards residents, patients, colleagues, supervisors, and the broader community.

Bullying

Repeated, unreasonable behaviour directed at a worker that creates a risk to health and safety. 

This may include: 

  • Intimidation, humiliation, or verbal abuse
  • Exclusion, undermining, or excessive scrutiny
  • Unreasonable work demands or threats 

Harassment 

Unwelcome behaviour that offends, humiliates, or intimidates a person, including: 

  • Offensive comments, jokes, or gestures 
  • Unwelcome physical contact 
  • Behaviour related to personal characteristics 

Sexual Harassment 

Any unwelcome sexual behaviour that makes a person feel offended, humiliated, or intimidated, including: 

  • Sexual comments, jokes, or messages
  • Unwanted touching or advances
  • Requests for sexual favours
  • Displaying sexual content


Zero Tolerance

E4 People has a zero-tolerance approach to bullying, harassment, and sexual harassment. Any substantiated behaviour of this nature may result in immediate action, including removal from a placement and further disciplinary measures.

Reporting Options:

- Contact your E4 People consultant
- Report directly to E4 People via 1300 854 400| hello@e4people.com.au
- Use reporting channels provided during onboarding

External Reporting Options

If required, you may also seek support or make reports through:
- The host organisation’s reporting process
- Fair Work Commission
- Safe Work regulator
- Australian Human Rights Commission 

What Happens After You Report:

- Your report will be taken seriously and handled confidentially
 - Immediate safety risks will be addressed first
- An assessment or investigation may occur
- Appropriate actions will be taken in line with legislation and policy
- You will be kept informed where possible

Support available 

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP:) All E4 People workers have access to confidential counselling and support through our EAP.

  • Check-Ins: E4 People conduct regular check-ins, particularly following incidents, complaints, or high-risk placements.

For regional and remote work, E4 People provides:

  • Increased communication and welfare check-ins

  • Clear escalation pathways

  • Additional support before, during, and afterplacement
