Respect at Work & Psychological Safety
E4 People is committed to creating workplaces where everyone feels safe, respected, and supported. Psychological safety is just as important as physical safety, and every worker has the right to a respectful work environment.
Everyone deserves a safe and respectful workplace
All E4 People workers are entitled to:
- Be treated with dignity, fairness, and respect
- Work free from bullying, harassment, discrimination, and victimisation
- Raise concerns without fear of reprisal
Respectful behaviour is expected at all times, towards residents, patients, colleagues, supervisors, and the broader community.

What counts as unacceptable behaviour?
Bullying
Repeated, unreasonable behaviour directed at a worker that creates a risk to health and safety.
This may include:
- Intimidation, humiliation, or verbal abuse
- Exclusion, undermining, or excessive scrutiny
- Unreasonable work demands or threats
Harassment
Unwelcome behaviour that offends, humiliates, or intimidates a person, including:
- Offensive comments, jokes, or gestures
- Unwelcome physical contact
- Behaviour related to personal characteristics
Sexual Harassment
Any unwelcome sexual behaviour that makes a person feel offended, humiliated, or intimidated, including:
- Sexual comments, jokes, or messages
- Unwanted touching or advances
- Requests for sexual favours
- Displaying sexual content
Zero Tolerance
E4 People has a zero-tolerance approach to bullying, harassment, and sexual harassment. Any substantiated behaviour of this nature may result in immediate action, including removal from a placement and further disciplinary measures.

You are encouraged to report concerns early. Reporting helps us act quickly to protect your safety and wellbeing.

What Happens After You Report:
Support available
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP:) All E4 People workers have access to confidential counselling and support through our EAP.
- Check-Ins: E4 People conduct regular check-ins, particularly following incidents, complaints, or high-risk placements.
