Vaccinations &
Immunisations
Evidence of vaccinations is essential in aged care to protect both staff and residents from preventable diseases. Older adults are more vulnerable to infections, and vaccinations help meet legal and regulatory requirements for a safe and healthy environment.
What vaccinations do I need?
Each state differs. We require everyone to have an Influenza Vaccination, and COVID-19 Vaccinations.
Influenza Vaccination
This is required annually. While vaccinations do not expire, it is our policy that all staff receive the flu vaccination each year to ensure ongoing protection.
Vaccinations must be:
- Administered within the last 10 months at date of submission
- Evidence must include full name, DOB, vaccination provider and vaccine information (like the brand)
COVID-19 Vaccinations
Currently, two doses of the COVID-19 Vaccination are required. The Booster dose is strongly recommended; however this is not mandatory. Evidence can come in the form of:
- Letter from your GP (stating dose, date, vaccine)
- Immunisation History Statement
- COVID-19 Digital Certificate
- Overseas COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (via AIR)
